However soon thereafter, this domain became unavailable due to 'technical and organizational problems'. The .so domain got a second chance in April 2009, when the ICANN assigned the top level domain to the Somalian Ministry of Post and Telecommunication (MoPT). From the 1st of November onwards it will be possible to register .so domains.
